On the search for churros and mexican corn elote (aside from Toro, Ken Oringer’s South End tapas restaurant) La Verdad on Landsdowne Street is the one stop shop place to go.
I’ve eaten at the restaurant (loved the fish tacos), but love that I have the option to just take out or eat in a minimalist table for a fast bite.
Relative to all the places La Verdad has the best mexican corn in Boston, better than Toro Ole and Zocalo’s corn.
La Verdad’s churros are more doughnut like. Larger in width, airier and fluffy versus a thin, dense and crispy churro. This version was covered with a chocolate and caramel sauce, which was the right combination of sweet and more sweet.
