Within the basement of the Renaissance Hotel a former Masonic Temple is Temple Downtown. I previously attended my friend’s bachelorette party dinner here in their private back room. The cocktails and appetizers such as pizzas and fries were tasty. This time, we sat in the main dining room.
The roasted garlic and olive oil spread like butter and added nice flavor to the bread.
Warm Bean Soup, the bean soup was hearty and rustic.
Crisp Fried Point Judith Calamari, lemon, zucchini, lemon aioli & gremolata
Braised short rib, butternut squash puree and brussel sprouts
The short rib was a a dino bone and a bit fatty, but I enjoyed the flavor and the puree. The brussel sprouts were very fresh and unlike other resturants not drenched in butter.
Temple Burger seasoned lamb burger, black olive tapenade, tzatziki, tomato & romaine on brioche bun with garlic-parmesan fries
I really enjoyed the gyro-like burger. Unique and very moist and liked the tzatziki. I liked the flavor combination and would have it again.
Seared Scallops on fingerling potatoes
Although I didn’t try the scallops, they looked delicious. My two friends who had the dish seemed to really enjoy the well cooked scallops.
