Mistral Restaurant, Split

Mistral Restaurant is the Radisson Blue Split hotel restaurant located right near the beach. It is a less expensive dining option than the other two dining areas of the hotel. The waiter is a courteous men wearing a sailor striped t-shirt and white pants, very nautical. Although He is a man of few words. The water from the 2,000 aqueduct is Jana, which can also be found in the States. The lunch menu has seafood, burgers, french fries, deli meat and sandwiches. I went for the calamari (purple skin and roe inside), grilled with olive oil.

The tentacles were crispy, chewy and flavorful, salad was lightly dressed and french fries crisp. I had to eat here twice because of the great view of the beach.

Coffee culture is very large in Croatia. The general  rule of thumb for patrons is an 1 hr seating and lounging for 1 cup of coffee, all for 3 Euros.
