Croissant D’Or is located in the former location of Angelo Brocato gelato and has a beautiful courtyard to sit and sip coffee.
Located in the French Quarter on Ursuline, it is a few blocks from a convent and a “haunted” hotel. I love flakey, buttery croissants and D’or evokes gold and royalty to me.

The remnants of the Angelo Brocato legacy and former location.
What is most intriguing and causes pause for reflection is the alternative entrance for women. It makes me pontificate about women and gender issues. I recall when I visited the Canterbury Shaker Museum in New Hampshire, woman and men are separated, have different entrances and sit on different sides of the room.
Croissant D’Or serves hot croissant sandwiches, quiche, soup specials, coffees and pastries such as tarts, cakes.
