I am a huge fan of Zabars and had to stop by his latest venture, Eli’s Essentials. Patrons can eat prepared foods such as sandwiches and sushi, pastries, items from the salad bar at the second floor has a 15 seat wine bar.

The ground level has breads, croissants, breakfast items and sandwiches.

Loaves, baguettes, ficelle and rolls

Clever small packages with a few slices of bread and homemade marshmallows

Chocolates, nougat, nut bars

Frosted cakes, chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake and fruit tart

Meatloaf on onion pocket, salami and cheese sandwiches and egg salad. We had a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich as a snack and the bread had a nice chew.
