Wat (Buddhist Temples), Chiang Mai

Visiting the Wats was one of the most spiritually fulfilling experiences. The serenity from meditation was uplifting.

Spending an afternoon at many of Chiang Mai’s many Buddhist temples was a indulgent time to reflect and appreciate life. We didn’t make it to all 300, but maybe next time.

Koko Palm Inn, Chiang Mai

The Koko Palm Inn is a fairly new boutique hotel and was the epitome of hospitality. The outdoor ambiance and grounds itself is idyllic. The koi pond, mango tree, old school Mercedes in the front all player its part in setting the tone. The spacious room was a perfect sanctuary after visiting the walking markets, enjoying street food and the Buddhist temples within the Chiang Mai walls.

The boutique hotel’s location was in close proximity to the Sunday Walking Market and what really made the experience was the proprietor and staff. They truly care for each guest, want to display the treasures of the romantic city and treat you like a true friend. kob kun kaa.

Massage, Chiang Mai

We got several massages at the massage parlor located right near Top Garden and highly suggested by its proprietor. The parlor was simple and a family run operation. The foot and back massages were heavenly and quite inexpensive. The youngest in the family entertained her self as guests were enjoying massage services.

Top Garden Boutique Guesthouse, Chiang Mai

Top Garden Boutique Guesthouse rates were super reasonable in price and despite its low price, it’s simplicity, was clean, hospitable and a great location would make us choose Top Garden for our Chiang Mai stay again.

The proprietors really made us feel at home and wanted to ensure our stay was seamless. They made suggestions on restaurants and gifts we should bring back for our family. Although there is not breakfast served, there are other food options throughout the city and countless markets in the immediate area. The wireless in the rooms was strong, the garden area was relaxing and we really enjoyed our stay

Top Garden provides clean (more firm) beds and makes you feel like you truly have an extended family in Chiang Mai.

Candy: Sakura Maccha Kit Kats

We love Japanese Kit Kats and have tried a great variety before (BMH’s first taste of Japanese Kit Kats). We tried a new variety of Sakura Maccha or cherry blossom and green tea flavor ones. The flavor had a light tea and white chocolate and a floral note. By far these are the most complex flavored Kit Kats and everyone we shared these with were absolutely impressed and tickled. We just wish we could purchase these in the States!
