Sacre Coeur had some of the loveliest views in Paris. From the Metro folks were selling grilled corn with a makeshift food stand on a shopping cart. We walked the entire way from the Metro shop through a fabric area with yards of wool, silk and fabrics. Additionally, there was an area of African nail shops, wig shops and stores. Watch out for the tourist tricks including tying a ribbon around a hand or the lost ring trick.
Montmatre had an area of artists asking to do a caricature of coal sketch of tourists. There is a small area full of paintings of French landscapes, monuments and macarons. The pieces were freshly painted and ranged from 25 euros to 250 euros. We observed the culture diversity and a completely different vibe from La Seine and other Arrondisements.
