Bun Mee is a sandwich eatery with a sophisticated flair to traditional Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches.
the menu includes banh mi filled with grilled five spice chicken with caramel aioli, shaved onion, pickled carrot & daikon, cucumber, jalapenos, and cilantro to grilled lemongrass Kurobuta pork, flank steak, crispy catfish, smokey eggplant to sardines. In terms of sides, there are bun dishes, salads and there are salt and pepper garlic fries.
The restaurant has a funky flair and light pink signage.
Sriracha chili sauce and a tin canister of Cafe du Monde of chopsticks and napkins.
The House-Made Kaffir Limeade ($2.50) had an intensity of sweetness and tanginess.
We split a Grilled lemongrass Kurobuta pork with paté de campagne, mortadella, garlic aioli, shaved onion, pickled carrot & daikon, cucumber, jalapenos, cilantro for $6.75. The creaminess of the paté, flavor of the Kurobuta pork and sliced mortadella went well with the fresh pickled vegetables and heat of the chili. Very tasty.
