Golden Gate Bakery is known for their moon cakes and custard tarts. The custard tarts are on the 7×7 100 Things To Try Before You Die and we had to try them.The line was out the door, but went very quickly for the Chinese pastries.

The black bean buns, pineapple buns and sponge cakes all looked quite good.

The custard tart had a nice flakey pastry and were super warm and lightly sweet. 

The custard tart had a thicker well than most egg tarts we have eaten. Although we have made Portuguese egg tarts, the custard tarts are much more soft, creamy and smooth.
