Cowgirl Creamery Sidekick, Ferry Building, Embarcadero, San Francisco

Cowgirl Creamery has a post in the Ferry Building and sells its artisanal cheese. We love Cowgirl Creamery’s My Tam triple cream, Inverness and Red Hawk. Cowgirl Creamery Sidesick serves assorted sandwiches and simple lunch items.

The menu includes Red Hawk mac and cheese, a fresh mozzarella bar,  grilled cheese, sandwiches and cheese plates.

We enjoyed a vegetarian sandwich of Acme bread, arugula, asparagus, My Tam and olives. The sandwiches are pre-made, but we were able to request the sandwich to be pressed and warmed.

The Cowgirl Creamery Old Fashioned Tomato Soup is one of the best soups we have ever eaten. The smooth acidity of the tomato is garnished with our own Créme Fraiche and toasted croutons for $5.70.

We enjoyed a weekend  raclette Served 11-3pm Saturday and Sunday.  These cheese is melted and scraped with a knife onto the bread and tangy vegetables The warm cheese melted on toast with house made pickles and vegetables are a lovely weekend treat ($5.75). Must get.

We can not wait to sample the Cowgirl Cottage Cheese dumplings in Grana Padana cheese broth with seasonal vegetables and toasted croutons ($6.75) and the Earl Grey Panna Cotta ($3.00).
