The Met, Back Bay, Boston (Revisited)

There are several places we go to for burgers including Five GuysThe GallowsRadius and from time to time The Met Back Bay. On BMH’s first visit to Met Back Bay we loved the Paris burger, topped with egg on top like tasty Croque Madame.

We have sat in the private dining area, the main dining room and now the downstairs bar area. We just need to sit on the patio and in the Library room and we have tried the Met Back Bay in most locations of the restaurant. The afternoon we popped by was gorgeous, so most of the downstairs was open air.

You know when a restaurant is serious about salumi or charcuterie when they have a beautiful piece of machinery. Coppa had one as well and is a sight for sore eyes.

The wild arugula salad and long papery shavings of pecorino, shaved mushrooms, rich trufflebert hazelnuts. The salad was lush, flavorful and was nice with the vinaigrette.

The Iceberg Wedge with bacon, fried onion, blue cheese was topped with an additional salmon and a side of rich, buttermilk ranch dressing. One can top any Met salad with roasted chicken, salmon, sliced sirloin, chicken salad or lobster for an incremental charge. The salad had nice texture and loved the fried onion strings. The ranch dressing was house made and a perfect tang. The salmon was nice and flakey and perfectly executed.

Although suggested by our waiter, the Tokyo burger filled with avocado, muenster, pickled onions, sticky soy, daikon sprouts and wasabi mayo was so so. The fries were solid.
