Pierre Hermes, Galeries de Lafayette, Paris

Ever since we visited New York’s Laduree (BMH’s ardent adoration and review of Laduree) store, we have been meaning to head to Pierre Herme for sometime now and really is the best in the world. Creative flavors, combinations and pushes ones taste bounds.

Pierre Hermes sells chocolates, nougatines, small traditional gaufres and of course macarons.

The variety of caramels, confections, nougatines and chocolate look quite decadent and dainty. The sheen on the chocolates were beautiful. Mouth watering.

“Macarons only weigh a few grams, but that’s enough to leave your senses quivering with pleasure. Their thin, crisp shell, slightly rounded shape, tempting colours and tender interiors draw devotees to devour them with their eyes, and caress their smooth surface. Their flavours solicit the nose and, when one bites into that crisp shell, the ears tingle with pleasure and the palate is finally rewarded.” – Pierre Hermé

Some of Pierre Hermes specialty macaron flavors include fleur de sel caramel, passion fruit and milk chocolate, lemon and flakey hazelnut praline, pistachio ceylon and morello cherries.

We ordered seven macarons in the whimsical Les Incontournables de Paris box.

The box itself will be a perfect pencil case, memory box and will be cherished forever as the primier fois (but not the last time) to be enthralled by Pierre Hermes.

We really enjoyed the illustrations of Montmartre, La Jaconde, La Tour Eiffel, Centre Pompidou.

Some of the flavors we considered was the INFINIMENT CARAMEL – Salted-Butter Caramel, INFINIMENT JASMIN – Jasmine Flower & Jasmine Tea, INFINIMENT CASSIS – Blackcurrant, PELNTITUDE Chocolate and Caramel, EDEN – Peach, Apricot and Saffron and AMERICANO PAMPLEMOUSSE- Orange, Campari and Candied Grapefruit.

Our favorites were MOSAÏC – Pistachio, Ceylon Cinnamon & Morello Cherries, MÉDÉLICE – Lemon & Flaky Hazelnut Praline,  MOGADOR – Milk Chocolate & Passion Fruit, MÉTISSÉ – Orange, & Carrot with Ceylon Cinnamon, ISPHAHAN- Rose, Kitchi and Raspberry and HULIE D’OLIVE A LA MANDARINE- Olive Oil with Mandarin Orange. Each flavor was so unique, creative and really delighted our palates and thoughts.
