The Wok Shop, Chinatown, San Francisco

We first learned about The Wok Shop when we received via mail gift of a multi-use flat bottom wok which we have stir fried the hell out of it. The Wok Shop is the spot to shop for all things kitchen and Asian kitchen related. We replaced our mezzaluna with one from The Wok Shop and have purchased bamboo utensils and green chopsticks.

The Wok Shop is very popular and the first time we visited, Sang Yoon, chef of LA’s popular gastro pub, Father’s Office (known for the Office Burger, a patty of fine dry-aged beef topped with caramelized onions, Gruyère and Maytag cheeses, applewood-smoked bacon compote and arugula served on a soft roll). Chef Sang was purchasing items to be shipped back directly to his restaurant and we were chef struck. The few times we didn’t want to check our bag full of The Wok Shop items, such as ceramic bowls, steamers and wonton dumpling shapers we have them shipped directly as well.

TWS also has lanterns and other Asian related knick knacks and is a must visit when in SF Chinatown.
