This Sweet Iced Coffee Recipe is perfect for hot summer days or when you just want to make your own iced coffee at home. You only need a handful of simple ingredients for this cold beverage - and you can sip on it any time of the day. Now is the perfect time to give this cold coffee a try!

I really enjoy a simple, sweet iced coffee. While I love a hot coffee in hotter weather I prefer having an iced coffee drink. This is where this easy recipe shines! Instead of putting on your shoes and heading to the local coffee shop, you can make your own simple recipe right at home.
You'll find that the cold-brew method is easy, delicious, and a great way to save some cash rather than paying higher prices out in public. The last time that I made this great iced coffee, I was already planning when I was going to whip up my next one.

Ingredients
- Strong coffee - I like to use regular coffee leftover from my morning cup of joe. I will use a drip machine or French press, depending on how much I am making. You can also use cold brew coffee, instant coffee, or even chilled espresso shots.
- Half and half - Adds creaminess to this homemade iced coffee.
- Simple syrup - This adds sweetness and flavor to the cold drink.
- Ice cubes - You can use regular ice cubes or coffee ice cubes for this drink.

How to Make Sweet Iced Coffee Recipe
Step One: Put all the ingredients into a pitcher. Store in the fridge.
Step Two: When you are ready to serve, add ice to a glass and pour the iced coffee over it.
Top Tip
You can make your own simple syrup by dissolving granulated sugar 1:1 in boiling water. This will actually stay fresh for months in the fridge, so that you can use it and add it to some of your other favorite drinks.
Substitutions
- Store-bought syrups - You can use any coffee syrup in place of simple syrup. Caramel syrup would be a perfect pick!
Variations
- Milk - You could also use whole milk, heavy cream, almond milk, low fat milk, soy milk, or any milk mixture that you want.
- Sweeteners - Do you want a little bit more sweetness? You can add white sugar, brown sugar, or sugar-free sweeteners.
- Coffee - This recipe can be made using decaf coffee to cut down on caffeine. You can also vary the coffee strength to suit your needs.
- Vanilla extract - If you want to add some vanilla flavoring to this cold coffee drink, just stir in a few drops and mix well. You can then try it and decide if you want to add more.

Equipment
To make this perfect iced coffee, you literally don't need any special equipment. A pitcher and your favorite glass are all that you need.
Storage
For the best flavor and taste, make and serve this cold coffee fresh. If you do make it ahead of time, keep it stored in the fridge and give it a good stir before serving.
Common Questions
You can literally do anything that you want with this cold coffee. Add some whipped cream on top and then drizzle with caramel sauce to make it truly a decadent beverage.
You can. I love this idea - and it makes for a really fun way to add pops of flavor to other coffee drinks. Once you make this iced coffee recipe, you can then pour the mixture into an ice cube tray and let it set up.
Then, when you want a coffee-flavored ice cube for your morning coffee or iced latte, you just pop out an ice cube and add it. It's as simple as that. This is also a good way to use extra leftovers that you don't want to waste.
Sometimes, some coffee grounds sneak in - it happens. I just use a fine mesh strainer and pour the coffee drink through it, back into another mug. It catches the loose coffee grounds and makes my good iced coffee grounds-free!
