This Vanilla Coffee Frappuccino Recipe is perfect for a hot summer day. Coffee lovers will rejoice with the flavor of this delicious recipe, and they'll love that you only need a few simple ingredients to make it. Plus, this takes just two minutes to make!

Cold drinks like this are a must on a hot day. The flavor is like a combination of vanilla milkshake meets iced coffee, without the high price of buying it from a coffee shop. The vanilla frappuccino taste is a copycat recipe that tastes just like you bought it from Starbucks.
Grab all the ingredients from the grocery store, and give this homemade frappuccino a try. It'll be your new sweet treat for less money, and you'll be hooked the first time you make it. Homemade versions are always better in my opinion!

Ingredients
- Whole milk - This adds the base for the creamy vanilla drink.
- Espresso chilled (or double-strength coffee) - I like a strong coffee base from my drink.
- Simple syrup - Simple syrup is just sugar dissolved in hot water.
- Vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract - This adds the perfect vanilla flavoring.
- Xanthan gum - This is optional, but it does help prevent the separation that can happen with frozen drinks. I do recommend it, but it's not necessary to make this amazing drink.

How to Make this Vanilla Coffee Frappuccino Recipe
Step One: Add all the ingredients for this vanilla bean frappuccino recipe into a blender.
Step Two: Blend until the texture is smooth. Add any garnish you prefer.
Top Tip
If you want less sugar in your own frappuccino, you can use a sugar free syrup or sugar free caramel sauce.
Substitutions
- Instant coffee - You can make this frappe recipe using instant coffee instead of espresso.
- Milk - While I prefer almond milk, this vanilla bean frappe can be made using low-fat milk or unsweetened almond milk. Just know that using anything other than whole milk will likely change the texture a bit.
Variations
- Toppings - Add some whipped cream, crushed cookies or candies, a drizzle of caramel sauce or caramel syrup, or anything else that you want to turn this into an indulgent treat.
- Coffee - If you don't want caffeine, or even don't want any extra caffeine, you can literally use decaf coffee or just omit the coffee altogether.
- Syrup - Swap out the simple syrup for a flavored syrup. You can use any flavor that pairs with a coffee flavor, but I like to use caramel syrup.

Equipment
To make this simple copycat Starbucks frappe, all you really need is a high-speed blender. That will give you the perfect final result in just a couple of minutes.
Storage
Due to the simplicity of this recipe, I don't recommend storing it for later. Make it fresh, enjoy the flavor and taste of this perfect recipe, and then put it on repeat for all of your mornings.
Common Questions
Using vanilla bean paste is going to be the best way to add vanilla flavoring that really stands out. You can also use vanilla bean powder, or pure vanilla extract - these will work well too.
I like serving it in a tall glass or mason jar. Just leave room for the toppings!Â
Sometimes that happens with cold drinks. It's nothing to worry about - just give it a good stir and continue drinking. If you take a while to drink it, you'll notice this happening, but if you drink it pretty quickly after making it, it should be fine.
