How to Make White Chocolate Cranberry Scones
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Add parchment paper to a baking sheet.
Step One: Mix the first 5 ingredients in a food processor and pulse until the butter is cut in.
Step Two: Add everything into a large bowl and add the cream. Mix until the dough starts to come together. Fold in the cranberries and white chocolate chips with a wooden spoon or spatula.
Step Three: Separate the dough into two balls. Press each one on the baking sheet into two circles.Â
Step Four: Cut 8 wedges into each one and separate the triangles a bit so there is room between each one.
Step Five: Bake the scones for 12-14 minutes or until golden. Let them cool down all the way.
Step Six: Drizzle with the leftover melted chocolate.
Top Tip
You can make small circular shapes (instead of triangles) by scooping the dough with a large cookie scoop and then pressing down gently.
Substitutions
- Gluten free - To turn this into gluten-free cranberry scones, swap out and use your favorite gluten-free flour.
Variations
- Coarse sugar - If you don't want a white chocolate drizzle as a topping, you can use coarse sugar right on top.
- Change the flavor - Skip the cranberries and try raspberry scones, blueberry scones, or even just buttery scones with a bit of lemon zest.Â
- Unsalted butter - You can use unsalted butter technically, but salted butter really is key for this sweet scone.

Storage
Leftover scones are simple to store! Let them cool down all the way, then add them to an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature, or in the fridge - whatever works best.
You can also freeze scones for later by adding them to a freezer-safe bag or container.
Common Questions
You can. Prepping the dough and getting it ready to bake is a great way to get ahead. Just make sure that you cover it and store it in the fridge until you are ready to bake. You should also remove the dough from the fridge and let it come to room temperature before you slice it into sections and cook.Â
Absolutely. The great thing about making scones from scratch is that there is wiggle room for adding fun flavors. You can add lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and the list goes on.Â
You might have overmixed the dough or baked it a tad bit too long. Pay close attention to the details on the recipe card to get the perfect scones each time.
