These Kinder Bueno Cookie Bars are about to take dessert to the next level! When it comes to cookie bar recipes, adding the Kinder Bueno bars is the perfect touch. The first time you try them, you’re going to be hooked by the flavor.

I love that these Kinder Bueno bars have a different flavor. They’re soft and sweet and really do taste like the perfect combination of soft cookie bars meets candy bar. If you don’t know whether to bake cookie recipes or dessert bars, this is the perfect treat to try.

The best part about these delicious Kinder Bueno Cookie Bars is that it makes a big enough pan to feed a crowd! You can easily create a Kinder surprise for a special weekend dessert. The extra flavor of the candy treat is the best.

Be sure to check out my Mini Egg Cookie Bars for another fun flavor and taste. Cookie bars are great for a fast and easy dessert.

Ingredients

Butter – I like to use unsalted butter for this recipe.

Sugar – Adds sweetness to this simple dessert.

Light brown sugar – Adding soft brown sugar also adds sweetness and a nice golden coloring.

Egg – Used to bind the wet and dry ingredients together.

Vanilla – Pure vanilla extract is my choice.

Flour – This is used to create the cookie bar batter.

Baking soda – Helps to add texture to these treats.

Salt – Just a pinch.

Kinder Bueno minis – The star of the show! (you can also chop up Kinder Bueno bars, too!)

Milk chocolate chips – To add to the top of the recipe once it’s done baking.

How to make Kinder Bueno Cookie Bars

Step One: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Add parchment paper to an 8X8 pan.

Step Two: Cream the butter and sugars until smooth.

Step Three: Mix in the vanilla and egg. Once combined, mix in half the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the rest of the flour until just incorporated.

You can mix the flour in using a spatula.

There should be no visible flour or dry ingredients once it’s combined well.

Step Four: Stir in the candies and then spread the mixture into the pan.

We like to cut the candies in half first so they are distributed more evenly.

Step Five: Put the pan in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Step Six: Sprinkle the top with the chocolate chips.

Variations

Add cocoa powder – You can mix in a little bit of this flavoring with the rest of the dry ingredients for a fun flavor.

Use white chocolate chips – Add these to the top of your treat for a fun flavor. It creates a delicious white chocolate spread on top.

Use Kinder chocolate bars – If you can’t find minis, don’t stress. Just chop the Kinder bars into Kinder Bueno pieces. You just might even get more of a fun flavor from the creamy hazelnut filling.

Make Kinder Bueno cookies – Once you combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, you can roll the mixture into cookie dough balls and make delicious Kinder cookies instead of cookie bars. Just make sure that they’re cooked all the way and then let them cool on a wire rack. You can’t go wrong with making Kinder Bueno recipes.

Common Questions

How do I store leftovers?

One of the top tips to keep in mind to keep these bars soft and delicious is to store them correctly. Once you let the cookie bars cool to room temperature, you can store them in an airtight container. They should stay fresh for 5-7 days. If you don’t have a container with a lid, be sure to cover them well or wrap the bars in plastic wrap.

Is dessert bars like a cookie pie?

Sort of! The biggest different with dessert bars is that they’re going to be cut into squares so that they’re easy to grab and enjoy. A cookie pie typically has toppings like ice cream or whipped cream on it, making it better to eat while sitting, and with a plate.

What does Kinder Bueno candy taste like?

So many fun flavors. There is the crunchy of the crispy wafer, paired with the creaminess of the hazelnut filling. And then that’s surrounded by a layer of delicious chocolate. There’s a reason that this candy is popular with the kids!

If you love hazelnut make sure to try our Nutella Baked Oats for breakfast sometime!

Can I add other toppings?

Always be aware of food allergies before changing up a recipe, but you can absolutely make any changes to the toppings to this original recipe. I like adding chocolate chips because they melt and create a fun flavor, but you can add chopped nuts, shredded coconut, and more. Just know that any changes will change the original taste, too.
