Ingredients
- Peanut butter - You can use crunchy peanut butter, creamy peanut butter, or natural peanut butter for these peanut butter bites. Just keep in mind that natural peanut butter can have a different consistency, so you may need to adjust the mixture slightly.
- Oats - I find that using quick oats is the best type of oats for this recipe, as they have a great texture once combined with everything else. You can also use certified gluten-free oats if you need these to be gluten-free.
- Powdered sugar - A little bit of sweetness is all that is needed. If there is sugar in the peanut butter that you are using, you might be able to cut down on adding as much of this.

How to Make Peanut Butter Oatmeal Balls
I told you that this was an easy recipe!
Step One: Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl. Stir until everything is evenly mixed.

Step Two: Use a cookie scoop and scoop out 18 peanut butter balls. Roll them between your hands if you want a smoother, rounder shape. Place the scooped balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or waxed paper.

Step Three: Serve and enjoy these easy no-bake oatmeal and peanut butter balls!

Top Tip
If the mixture seems too dry, add additional peanut butter or a little coconut oil or butter. It should be moist enough to hold together. I recommend adding just a little at a time so the mixture doesn't get too soft to scoop.
Variations
- Almond Butter - You can easily swap the peanut butter for almond butter or cashew butter. Sunflower seed butter is a great option if you need a nut-free alternative, too.
- Extra Protein - If you want to add another ingredient, protein powder is a great way to add some extra protein to these oatmeal energy balls. You may need a little more peanut butter if the mixture becomes too dry.
- Add Mix-Ins - Chia seeds or ground flax seeds are easy additions if you want a little extra fiber. Start with a teaspoon or two since adding too much can make the mixture dry.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter - Mini chocolate chips are never a bad idea! They fit perfectly with these easy peanut butter balls and quickly turn the recipe into delicious chocolate peanut butter balls. Or you could coat the balls in melted chocolate.
- Cinnamon - Add a pinch of cinnamon for a little extra flavor. It pairs really well with the peanut butter and oats.
- Maple Syrup or Honey - If you don't want to add as much processed sugar, you can use honey or pure maple syrup in its place. If the mixture seems too wet, add a little coconut flour or oat flour (just grind some oats in a food processor).

Equipment
All you need is a mixing bowl, a spoon, and a cookie scoop. I like using a small cookie scoop because it makes the peanut butter oatmeal balls about the same size. You can also use a regular spoon if you don't have one.
Storage
Store these peanut butter oatmeal balls in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. I like to keep them in the fridge because they hold their shape a little better, but they're fine at room temperature for a quick grab-and-go snack.
You can also freeze them in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 3 months. I recommend separating layers with parchment paper so they don't stick together. Thaw in the refrigerator or enjoy them straight from the freezer for a firmer bite.
