Top Tip
You want a rough chop for the Oreo pieces. A cutting board and a sharp knife do the trick.
Substitutions
- Chocolate - Leave out the white chocolate chips, and add semi-sweet chocolate chips or even dark chocolate chips. Both are delicious options for making these ultimate cookies.
- Oreos - Switch it up and use Golden Oreos or even Mint Oreos for a fun flavor.
Variations
- Toppings - Have fun and add anything you want to the top of the cookies! You can add mini milk chocolate chips, more Oreo cookie pieces, or even a drizzle of chocolate and sprinkles.
- Frosting - Some people do like to add a homemade cream cheese frosting to the middle of two of these cookies to "mock" Oreo cookie. It looks like a cream filling and a giant Oreo!

Equipment
To make these epic cookies, you'll need to have a large cookie scoop, a baking sheet (or cookie sheet), a hand mixer, a large mixing bowl, and a measuring cup.
Storage
Once the cookies have cooled on a wire rack or cooling rack, store any leftovers in an airtight container. Keep them in the fridge so that they remain fresh. You can also freeze cookie recipes like this by placing them in a freezer-safe bag and storing them in the freezer.
Common Questions
Yes, they will. This recipe does make soft and chewy cookies, but the longer that they cool, the better they will hold their shape.
They don't have any added caffeine to them, but cocoa powder has a bit! Adding a little scoop of espresso powder would be a super fun way to turn these into cookies with a kick!
You bet! If you need to prep and get the cookies ready earlier, just make the dough, cover the bowl of cookie dough with some plastic wrap, and keep it stored in the fridge. When you're ready to use it, remove it from the fridge to let it reach room temperature, and then proceed with the rest of the recipe.

Great cookies! Very rich. The dough came together beautifully in my stand mixer. I had to mix in the chips and cookie pieces by hand. My batch yielded 18 cookies. And for those who want to know, 1 cup chopped oreos should be about 8 cookies, but set 10 aside just to be sure.
