Ingredients
- Heavy cream - Heavy whipping cream adds richness and helps with the texture.
- Cream cheese - Using this gets that creamy factor paired with the heavy cream.
- Powdered sugar - Adds sweetness and also helps to thicken it.
- Black cocoa powder - Turns this into a yummy chocolate mousse. Black cocoa is the flavor of Oreo cookies so I highly recommend using it in this mousse. Regular cocoa will work if you prefer.
- Oreo crumbs - The star of the show!
See recipe card for quantities.
How to Make Oreo Mousse
Step One: Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Put that mixture into a different bowl.
Step Two: Whip the cream cheese until it is soft. Add the powdered sugar and mix until fluffy.
Step Three: Mix in the black cocoa powder.
Step Four: Add â…“ of the whipped cream. Mix well.
Step Five: Fold in the rest of the whipped cream. Fold gently so you don't deflate the whipped cream.
Step Six: Fold in the Oreo cookie crumbs. This works best if the cookies are fine crumbs.
Step Seven: Mix until combined.
Step Eight: Serve.
Top Tip
You can crush your Oreo cookies in the blender or food processor, put them in a sealable plastic bag, and use a rolling pin. The blender will make smaller cookie chunks - but it's totally up to you!
Substitutions
- Cookie crumbs - This recipe is super simple to swap out the Oreo cookies for any other type of cookies that you want. Most cookies go with the chocolate mixture and flavor so have fun changing it up!Â
Variations
- Vanilla extract - Add vanilla or even coconut extract for a burst of coconut flavor.
- Pinch of salt - Just a little bit of salt can add a savory twist.
- Toppings - The more toppings, the better! Chocolate shavings, semisweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, chocolate ganache, Cool Whip, or even extra Oreo cookie pieces are perfect to put on top of the mousse!

Common Questions
Yes - but I think that it has a better texture and tastes better fresh. If you do freeze it, I recommend freezing in a popsicle mold and enjoying frozen.
