How to Make this Raspberry Lemonade Recipe

Step One: Mix the hot water with the sugar in a heat-safe measuring cup. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. If you have simple syrup, you can skip this step. Pour in the fresh lemon juice.

Step Two: Stir in the raspberry purée. (To make the raspberry puree, thaw the berries, then blend in a blender. )

Step Three: Divide between glasses. Add the ice cubes and stir. If you need to add some cold water, do so.

Step Four: Garnish with fresh lemon slices or a sprig of fresh mint.
Top Tip
If you'd prefer a drink without raspberry seeds, you can press the raspberry puree through a mesh strainer before adding it. Simply pour it into the sieve and press with a rubber spatula. Discard any seeds and pulp that don't go through the mesh.
Substitutions
- Frozen fruit - You can easily change this into a strawberry lemonade recipe by swapping the raspberries for strawberries. Other types of frozen fruit work just fine, too.
Variations
- Extra raspberries - You can add as much raspberry flavor as you want to this. Add more or less - up to you.
- Lemon wedges - Adding slices on the rim is great for aesthetic, but you can add wedges to the drink, too.
- Sugar - If you want to reduce the sugar, you can adjust it to your liking. You can also swap in coconut sugar or honey.
- Lime juice - If you don't have fresh lemon juice, lime juice works. Bottled lemon juice is an option as well.
- Fresh mint leaves - Love mint? Add some fresh mint leaves for a minty flavor.
- Raspberry syrup - If you don't have time to make the puree, you can use flavored syrup.

Storage
Once you make this homemade lemonade recipe, it's best to serve it fresh. If you have to store it for later, make sure that you cover it if possible and keep it chilled in the fridge. Once you're ready to drink, give it a good stir and enjoy. You can make a big batch and use this option.
If you have extra leftovers, have fun with them and freeze them as ice cubes. This will give them a delicious raspberry lemonade taste that can be added to other delicious drinks.

Common Questions
You can use fresh raspberries or frozen raspberries for this drink, so use what you have on hand. Both frozen or fresh berries will give delicious flavors.
It's super important to follow the steps on the recipe card to get the best results. If you feel like the end result of this fresh raspberry lemonade is grainy, you likely didn't heat the hot water and sugar well enough. The hot water needs to fully dissolve the sugar before moving on to the next steps. If this doesn't happen, you'll likely have a sugar texture in your drink that some people will notice.
Lemon wedges or lemon slices are always a good idea, but you can always add fresh raspberries on a food pick or even a cute little drink umbrella to take it over the top.
