There's just something about these cookies and cream cookies. And yes, I have no issue grabbing one each time I walk through the kitchen.
I've made these for weekend snacking, a special occasion, or as a fun treat for holidays, and honestly, any time of year is perfect. They have the texture of soft chocolate chip cookies, with the flavor kicked up a notch by the crushed Oreos. You're going to love them as much as the kids - trust me.

Ingredients
- Salted butter - You'll need two sticks for this recipe. If you have unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt.
- White sugar - Adds sweetness.
- Flour - All purpose flour is one of the main dry ingredients in cookie dough.
- Baking powder - Adds texture.
- Salt - For flavor.
- Vanilla extract - Vanilla also enhances the other flavors.
- Eggs - The main wet ingredient that binds everything together.
- Oreos - Chop them into pieces before adding. You can chop them by hand with a sharp knife or in the food processor. You want chunks of cookies and not small crumbs.

How to Make Cookies and Cream Sugar Cookies
Add parchment paper to two baking sheets and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Step One: In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or electric mixer and mix the butter on medium speed until creamy. Add the sugar and mix until fluffy. Alternatively, you can use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment.

Step Two: Add the eggs and mix until they are smooth. Add the flour and mix until combined.

Step Three: Fold in the chopped Oreo pieces.

Step Four: Mix the sugar cookie dough until combined.

Step Five: Use a cookie scoop and scoop out the cookie dough balls. Place them 3 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Put the cookie sheet in the fridge and let the dough chill for at least 20 minutes.

Step Six: Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack.
Top Tip
Be careful that you don't crush up the Oreos too much, and they don't all have to be the same size. They should be big enough that they provide texture and can be tasted once eaten.
Substitutions
- Cookies - If you don't want to use Oreo cookies, swap them out for any type of cookie that you want. You could also technically leave out the cookies if you decide that you don't want to add them after all.
- Sugar - You could also use brown sugar in this recipe for sweetness. The cookies might look a bit darker because of this swap. I prefer white sugar, so the flavor of the Oreos stands out.
Variations
- Chocolate chips - Adding some semi-sweet or white chocolate chips is a fun way to add even more bursts of sweetness.
- Frosting - Sandwich some chocolate frosting between two cookies for amazing sandwich cookies that are almost like an inside-out Oreo.

Equipment
To make these cookies, you'll want to have a baking pan, a mixer, and a cookie scoop.
Storage
Once these cookies are baked and have cooled on a cooling rack, they are ready to store. Store cookies in an airtight container with a lid. They can be kept at room temperature or refrigerated.
You can also freeze these cookies to enjoy later. Just be sure that they're in a freezer-safe container or freezer bag to keep out air. Alternatively, you can wrap them individually in plastic wrap. To thaw, move them to the fridge or set them out at room temperature for a short time.

Common Questions
They will. This is one recipe I do like to chill the dough. Be sure that you leave space on the baking sheet for them to spread. A few inches of space between scoops should be sufficient.
If you've stored them for a couple of days and they're no longer soft, just pop them in the microwave for about 7-8 seconds. The heat will soften them right up and make them nice and warm. Just be careful, because depending on your microwave's power, there may be hot spots in the cookie that could burn your mouth.
