Ingredients
- White cake mix - Use your favorite brand of cake mix for this recipe. Using white cake mix helps the flavor of the cereal stand out.
- Oil - Vegetable oil or coconut oil are good choices. If you use coconut oil melt it before proceeding.Â
- Eggs - This helps bind the wet ingredients and dry ingredients together to make the cookie dough.
- Fruity Pebbles cereal - You only need a little bit, so you'll have the rest of the box of Fruity Pebbles to enjoy eating later!

How to Make Fruity Pebbles Cookies With Cake Mix
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Add parchment paper to two different baking sheets.
Step One: Stir the first three ingredients together.
Step Two: Mix in the cereal. I try to fold it in gently so the cereal pieces aren't crushed.
Step Three: Use a medium cookie scoop and scoop 24 cookies onto the two prepared baking sheets. You can also use a spoon or ice cream scoop.
Step Four: Give them space to spread while baking. I bake 12 per tray to ensure they don't touch.
Step Five: Put the pans in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes.
Step Six: Let cool and enjoy.Â
Top Tip
You can easily add extra Fruity Pebbles as well if you want to add more fruity flavor. Just be sure that you find a balance so that you can make the cookie dough balls and they're not overly full of your favorite cereal or they will bake up drier and possibly crumble. Try rolling the balls of dough in extra cereal.
Substitutions
- Cereal - Cookie recipes like this can be used with other types of cereal like Cocoa Pebbles and even Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Cereal with larger pieces should be chopped first.
Variations
- Add toppings - Even though these cookies get 5-star reviews as they are, there is always room for a fun topping! You can add a little cream cheese frosting, buttercream, or even drizzle melted white chocolate chips on top.Â
- Vanilla extract - This is an easy way to add a pop of vanilla flavor.

Equipment
Cookie lovers not only love the flavor of these Fruity Pebbles treats, but they love how easy they are as well. All you need is a rubber spatula or wooden spoon, a medium bowl, sheet pans, and parchment paper.Â
Storage
Once you follow the steps on the recipe card and make this yummy cereal cookie recipe, storing the leftovers the right way will give you the best results. Let the cookies cool to room temperature, and store them in an airtight container. I keep them in the fridge because they tend to have a longer shelf life that way.
You can also freeze these baked cookies by storing them in freezer-safe bags.Â
Common Questions
There is no chill time required for this cookie recipe. Once you mix the ingredients, it's time for baking.Â
They have the best chewy texture! The edges are baked to perfectly golden brown and the middle of the cookie has a tender, soft, and chewy texture.Â
It's all about making sure that you don't overmix the cookie dough and don't overbake them in the oven. Overbaking cookies will change their texture, as does overmixing.Â
Of course - this is a fun way to take this cookie recipe to the next level. Just be sure that you pay close attention to the baking time as this will change due to the new cookie size.Â
