Peanut Butter Baked Oats is a perfect healthy breakfast and a great way to feed the whole family. This has maximum peanut butter flavor for a simple breakfast that makes meal prep a breeze.

The great thing about making this dish is that while it's technically a breakfast food, I think it's also great for my sweet tooth for an afternoon snack or even an after-dinner treat when I don't want a heavy dessert.
I love that this baked oatmeal recipe has a cake-like texture, but with the perfect balance of healthy fats and sweetness. It's one of my favorite breakfasts, and sometimes I'll top it with some fresh berries or sliced banana.
I also love having this on hand for busy mornings when I just need something dependable to fuel our day. It really doesn't let me down, ever, in terms of flavor or ease.

Ingredients
- Milk - Things out the ingredients so that it bakes evenly.
- Peanut butter - You could use creamy peanut butter or crunchy peanut butter for this recipe.
- Honey - Added for natural sweetness.
- Eggs - Binds the dry ingredients together.
- Oats - I normally use old-fashioned oats or rolled oats for this dish. Choose gluten-free oats to make this gluten free.

How to Make Peanut Butter Baked Oats
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Use a 1-quart baking dish and grease it.

Step One: Add the first four ingredients to a blender and blend them until they are smooth.

Step Two: Add the oats to the prepared baking dish. Pour the peanut butter mixture over the top of the oats.

Step Three: Put the dish into the oven and bake for 35-45 minutes. It will be golden brown and no longer jiggly.

Step Four: Serve warm.
Top Tip
The best part about this dish is that it's flexible. Make it dairy-free with coconut milk or gluten-free with gluten free oats. Add mix-ins or toppings. Kick up that nutty flavor of peanut butter however you like.
Substitutions
- Pure maple syrup - Use this instead of honey for sweetness. Any liquid sweetener should work; just add it to taste.
- Alternative milk - Swap in coconut milk or almond milk instead of regular milk to make this dairy free.
Variations
- Seasonsings - Add a little bit of vanilla extract or a pinch of salt to boost the other flavors. Cinnamon is another nice choice.
- Cocoa powder - This turns the flavor into chocolate peanut butter. Add a handful if mini chocolate chips for an amazing dish.
- Natural peanut butter - Use any type for this peanut butter oatmeal bake.
- Protein powder - Add vanilla protein powder to turn this into a protein-packed peanut butter breakfast.
- Nut butter - Try almond butter, pecan butter, or cashew butter.

Equipment
To make this oatmeal, you need to have cooking spray, a baking dish, and a blender. That's it. It couldn't be easier to make with minimal prep and equipment needed.
Storage
Store any leftovers in an airtight container and keep them in the fridge. You can also freeze individual portions. Just wrap in plastic wrap, add to a plastic storage bag, and store in the freezer. Warm them up in the microwave when ready to eat.

Common Questions
Absolutely. You can add a dollop of vanilla Greek yogurt for even more protein and a fun flavor. Or cut some banana slices and add them to a peanut butter banana dish. A drizzle of peanut butter on top is the perfect way to round out the flavor. Another option is to add dark chocolate chips for a little bit of indulgence.
With the added peanut butter, it's already got a good amount of protein in it, but you could add some protein powder as well to boost it. Peanut butter is a good source of protein naturally, but you can add more if you want. I haven't tried this, so I can't vouch for the flavor and texture. Just be sure that you mix it well with the other ingredients.
I don't see why not. This way, everyone has a serving size of their own to enjoy. The baking time will vary since the dishes are smaller, so it's important to pay attention to the cooking time and also how they look. Remember, they're done when they are no longer jiggly, so don't overbake.
