With the holiday season coming up soon, it's time to save this Cinnamon Pie Recipe. Not only does it take simple ingredients, but the cinnamon flavor will create the perfect warmth in your belly and holiday smells in your home.

The first time that I made this cinnamon pie was for Christmas dinner, and I knew that it was going to be a new holiday tradition. Not only did it hit all the flavor notes for the cinnamon lovers sitting around the table, but I loved how the leftover pie tasted the next day. Somehow, the cinnamon pie filling got even better, which was such a fun treat.
Using a premade pie crust is also a great way to make this delicious pie in a short amount of time. This works really well in the fact that you can cook the full recipe at once and not take up a ton of space in the oven when it's such a hot commodity for the holiday! Prep this for dinner parties or as a fun dessert for the whole family to enjoy.

Ingredients
Unbaked pie crust - You can buy this at the store or make your own homemade pie crust and use it. I like this 3 Ingredient Pie Crust for a homemade crust option.
Sugar - For sweetness.
Salted butter - Great for adding richness to baked goods.
Flour - This is what makes up the texture of the pie filling.
Eggs - Helps to bind the ingredients together for baking.
Cinnamon - You have to have cinnamon for cinnamon pie.
Vanilla extract - For added flavor.
How To Make Cinnamon Pie
Find out below how to make this great dessert with step-by-step photos. The complete recipe is at the bottom of the blog post.
Step One: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
Step Two: Beat the butter, flour, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon until creamy. Be sure to use an electric mixer for this.
Step Three: Add the cinnamon custard mixture to the unbaked pie crust.
Step Four: Put the pie in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the middle of the pie barely jiggles and the edges of the pie are golden brown. You may notice that the middle will pop up some, but that will settle down as it cools.
Variations
Add toppings - Nothing goes with this creamy cinnamon filling quite like a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream. You can also opt for cream cheese frosting to really take the sweetness factor to the next level. When it comes to adding toppings, I don't like to cover the entire pie, but a little bit works!
Add fruit - I normally use pears in my Custard Fruit Pie which is what this recipe is based on. Ripe pears would be amazing with this cinnamon custard pie.
Nuts - If you want to try a unique pecan pie cover the top of this with pecans before baking.
Add other seasonings - A dash of cinnamon goes a long way in terms of flavoring for this homemade cinnamon pie, but that doesn't mean you can't add other options. A touch of nutmeg or even a little bit of pumpkin pie spice are all tasty options, too.
Use a different crust - If you have a favorite homemade flaky pie crust recipe that you want to use instead of a pre-made crust, go for it! You can absolutely use your own pie crust recipe to make this cinnamon cream pie. You can also opt for a graham cracker crust, too. Changing the type of crust is a simple way to change the flavor.

Common Questions
If I use a homemade pie crust, do I have to bake it first before adding pie filling?
No, you don't have to bake it first before completing this sweet treat. Since I use an unbaked storebought bottom crust for this recipe, you can just swap it out for an unbaked homemade crust and go about the rest of the recipe as written on the recipe card.
How do I know when the pie is done baking?
The best way to check is to test the middle of the pie. Give the pie plate a little shake or tap. If you see a slight jiggle, that means that this delicious cinnamon pie recipe is done baking and needs to start the cooling process. As the baked pie cools, the center of this perfect cinnamon pie recipe will firm.
Can I add a fun decoration to the top of the pie?
If you're making this pie for your next gathering for the holidays, adding a fun decoration on top is a great idea. Use a cookie cutter to cut out dough in a shape that you want, and then place it on the pie to bake. Some people like to add crust leaves, crust hearts, or other pie toppings to make their baked pie elegant.

love it!! My sister made it for Thanksgiving dinner and we had to try it again! I bake it for a lot longer because we like it more cakey not so gooey. (:
Try it! It's so easy and delicious!

Although my oven is properly calibrated the pie needed an extra five minutes for me.

Ovens can vary. I hope you liked it even though it took a few more minutes to bake 🙂
