Equipment
To make these chewy drop sugar cookies, all you need is a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, hand mixer, parchment paper, or a silicone mat, and cookie cutters if you want to make some fun shapes!
Storage
The fun part about making this small batch of sugar cookies is that you still might have leftovers! Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack, then transfer the leftovers to an airtight container. You can keep the leftover chewy cookies at room temperature.
You can also bake and freeze by baking the cookies, letting them cool, and then adding them to a freezer-safe bag or container.
Common Questions
I always set the butter out at room temperature before getting started. This way, when I'm ready to follow the steps on the recipe card, the butter is ready to use. You can also place the butter in the microwave in VERY short bursts to help soften it quickly - but you do have to be really careful with this and not let it melt completely during the process. A recipe that calls for softened butter doesn't want you to use melted butter.Â
Absolutely. It's a great recipe to enjoy as is and also super simple to double or triple. You can easily double the ingredients or just make the cookie recipe once and have it on repeat.Â
