My kids love the creamy texture of these homemade banana popsicles. Plus, only needing three simple ingredients makes them a breeze! I also really appreciate that this easy recipe has no artificial flavors, meaning that the flavor of the fresh bananas really stands out.
Before You Get Started
- Riper bananas will make sweeter popsicles.
- If your bananas are frozen, thaw them slightly before blending.
- Taste the mixture before freezing and add honey or maple syrup if desired.
- Silicone popsicle molds make it much easier to remove the popsicles.

Ingredients
- Bananas - You'll need about 4 medium bananas. The riper the bananas, the sweeter the popsicles will be.
- Half and half, whole milk, or coconut milk - Half and half creates the creamiest texture, but whole milk, coconut milk, or almond milk all work. Vanilla yogurt is another good choice.
- Honey or maple syrup - Optional if your bananas are already very sweet.

How to Make Creamy Banana Popsicles

Step One: Add all the ingredients to a blender.

Step Two: Blend until completely smooth and creamy with no lumps remaining. However, if you want banana chunks in your pops, that's fine too. Just blend a little less.

Step Three: Put the mixture into popsicle molds. Add popsicle sticks or the tops to the mold.

Step Four: Put the mold in the freezer until it is solid. This will take at least 3-4 hours.
Top Tip
You don't need overripe bananas, but the darker and spottier they are, the sweeter the popsicles will be. If your bananas are still slightly green, you may want to add a little honey or maple syrup.
Variations
- Vanilla extract - A little splash adds a fun vanilla flavoring.
- Peanut Butter Banana – Blend in 1-2 tablespoons peanut butter. Almond butter works too.
- Chocolate Banana – Add 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder or stir in mini chocolate chips before freezing.
- Strawberry Banana – Add a handful of strawberries before blending.
- Coconut Banana – Use coconut milk and sprinkle toasted coconut into the molds for an amazing dairy-free dessert.
- Sweetness - If you don't want to add honey or maple syrup, agave nectar could be used, too.

Equipment
All you need to make your own popsicles is a blender and a popsicle mold.
Storage
After making these easy banana popsicles, they have to be kept and stored in the freezer. Just leave them in the mold until you are ready to eat. If you're having trouble removing them from the mold, running a little bit of water on the outside area of the specific mold will help to loosen and make removal easier. Once frozen solid, if you prefer, you can remove the popsicles from the molds and store them in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 2 months.

Common Questions
Yes! Use ½ cup heavy cream instead of milk and freeze the mixture in a shallow container. Stir once or twice during the first few hours of freezing. When you're ready to eat, scoop and add your favorite toppings. Topping with chocolate magic shell and a few sprinkles is my 6-year-old's favorite.
Absolutely. You can easily turn them into strawberry popsicles by using fresh strawberries or blueberry popsicles by using blueberries. The best part is that you can mix and match or swap and see what flavor you like the best.
Using half and half, full-fat coconut milk, or whole milk creates a creamier texture. Lower-fat milk can result in icier popsicles.
