Ingredients
- Sweetened condensed milk - This adds the sweetness and creaminess factor to this easy chocolate fudge.
- Chocolate chips - Regular chocolate chips work great.
- Chopped nuts or other mix-in - This can be optional, but is a fun way to add new flavors and texture.
See recipe card for quantities.
How to Make 3 Ingredient Microwave Fudge
Add parchment paper to a loaf pan.
Step One: Mix the condensed milk and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Put it in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds. Microwave in 30 second increments until the chips are melted 75%.
Step Two: Once they reach that point, stir until they are totally melted. Mix in the choice of add-ins.
Step Three: Transfer the chocolate mixture to the prepared pan.
Step Four: Put the pan in the fridge until firm. This will take about 3-4 hours. Cut into bite-size pieces and store in an airtight container.
Top Tip
You can also use wax paper or plastic wrap to line the loaf pan. If you want thinner fudge, you can use a smaller baking pan to make it thinner in texture.
Substitutions
- Chocolate chips - Have fun with the flavor of this easy fudge recipe! You can use peanut butter chips for peanut butter fudge, dark chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and any other flavors that you want. They'll all make beautiful fudge that tastes delicious.
Variations
- Extracts - Put a flavor spin on this classic fudge by adding a tiny amount of vanilla extract or peppermint extract. A little bit will go a long way with this fudge mixture, so be careful!
- Add mix ins - In addition to the flavor of the melted semi-sweet chocolate chips, you can add mini marshmallows, sea salt, crushed candy canes, peanut butter, sprinkles, and more to this 3-ingredient fudge recipe.

Equipment
Easy desserts like this don't need a ton of equipment. You'll need to have a large microwave-safe bowl, parchment paper or non-stick cooing spray, a loaf pan, and a wooden spoon or spatula.
Storage
Once you make this 3 ingredient chocolate fudge recipe, you can easily store some for later. I just put a sheet of aluminum foil over the top, and it's a quick and easy way to keep it fresh. Due to the simple ingredients, this can be stored at room temperature or in the fridge.
You can also freeze the fudge by adding the leftovers to a large freezer bag and keeping it stored in the freezer. Remove a piece and thaw in the fridge or at room temperature to enjoy.
Common Questions
You can, but it will be a lot longer of a process. It will turn into a 10-15 minute fudge at that point, versus a five minute fudge by using the microwave.Â
The double boiler method words just as well as the microwave method, but will more than double the amount of cooking time needed.
You do have to be careful when heating this 5-minute microwave fudge recipe. If you overheat and actually burn the chocolate chips, you'll have to throw the mixture out and start all over again. What makes this the easiest fudge recipe is the simple steps and process, but you do need to pay close attention to the timeframes as listed on the recipe card so that you evenly melt the chocolate chips and not burn them.Â

Perfect fudge recipe. I added vanilla & chopped nuts. So very easy !
Sarah
I followed this recipe and my fudge came out very sticky and didn't harden much at all. Can I reheat it and do it again? I think I may have only cooked it for about 2 minutes. That may have been my issue. Please help, as I've never made fudge before.
Taryn
You can reheat it and add an additional half a cup chocolate chips. Which mix-in did you use? It does need something added to have the right ratio.
