How to Make this Honey Banana Bread Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9X5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
Step One: Cream the softened butter in a large bowl.
Step Two: Pour in the honey. Add the vanilla.
Step Three: Mix well.
Step Four: Add the eggs and mashed bananas. Mix well.
Step Five: Add the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Step Six: There shouldn't be any lumps of flour or other dry ingredients.
Step Seven: Pour the mixture into the prepared bread pan. Lining with parchment ensures it comes out of the pan easily.
Step Eight: Put the pan in the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
Top Tip
Be sure to check the bread every 20 minutes while it is baking, and if the top of the bread starts to get too dark, cover with foil and finish baking.
Substitutions
- Flour - You could also use whole wheat flour or even gluten-free flour for your flour mixture.
Variations
- Chocolate chips - Add chocolate chips to the batter or on top of the bread.
- Cinnamon - Add cinnamon to the top of the batter in the pan, and swirl with the tip of a knife. This will give a pretty swirled effect to the baked bread.
- Peanut butter - Serve with a little peanut butter once baked.

Equipment
All you need to make this simple banana bread is a large mixing bowl, a hand mixer (or stand mixer), a measuring cup, a cooling rack, a loaf pan, and parchment paper.
Storage
Once you have the bread baked, be sure to store leftovers in an airtight bread container or wrap it in plastic wrap to keep it from drying out. It can be left at room temperature.
You can also freeze this bread by adding slices to a freezer-safe bag.
Common Questions
This bread recipe is one example! When bread recipes use baking soda and baking powder instead of yeast, they're referred to as quick breads because they can be baked right away, with no time needed for the yeast to rise.
You can add just about anything that you want! Just be aware that adding different ingredients might extend the baking time needed, so be sure to be aware of that when doing the toothpick test to determine if the bread is fully baked and ready to be removed from the oven.
