It's the perfect time of year to make this Blueberry Mocktail. Fruity drinks are so refreshing during the summer months, and the flavor of sweet blueberries is at its prime during blueberry season. Whip up a large batch in a pitcher for family events or make your own fancy drink to sip on hot summer days. You're going to love the gorgeous color and flavor of this refreshing drink.

Making this simple blueberry mocktail is one of my favorite ways to use up juicy blueberries. While I like to use fresh blueberries here and there, having frozen ones on hand keeps this drink simple and easy. Grocery stores have frozen blueberries all year long, making this drink super easy to make whenever the craving hits.
With blueberry puree, fresh lime juice, and bubbly lemon lime soda, it might just be the most refreshing mocktail for a hot summer day. The recipe card below has all the easy details on how to make this tasty sipper.
Be sure to try this Raspberry Mocktail and this Cherry Mocktail for two other sweet and flavorful drinks.

Ingredients
- Lemon lime soda - The main liquid in this yummy drink. It adds sweetness and plenty of bubbles.
- Blueberry puree - Homemade blueberry puree gives the drink its gorgeous color and fresh blueberry flavor.
- Fresh lime juice - I squeeze it right from a lime wedge. It adds just enough tartness to balance the sweet blueberry mixture.
- Frozen blueberries - These are used to make the blueberry puree. Fresh blueberries work during blueberry season, too.

How to Make Blueberry Mocktail

Step One: Fill a glass with ice.

Step Two: Add the fresh lime juice and blueberry puree. You can squeeze a lime wedge or two right into the glass.

Step Three: Pour the lemon lime soda over the blueberry mixture and stir gently.

Step Four: Garnish with blueberries, lime slices, or a sprig of mint and enjoy!
Top Tip
To make the blueberry puree, thaw the berries in the microwave or leave them at room temperature for about an hour. Press them through a fine mesh sieve to remove the skins and seeds. There's no need to cook the berries or make a separate blueberry syrup or simple syrup for this recipe.
Substitutions
- Soda - You can swap the lemon lime soda for club soda, soda water, seltzer, sparkling mineral water, or your favorite sparkling water. Keep in mind that an unsweetened option will make the finished drink less sweet.
- Lime Juice - Lemon juice works in a pinch if you don't have fresh lime.
Variations
- Fresh Mint - Add a few fresh mint leaves to the glass and gently muddle them before adding the other ingredients.
- Sweeter - If you're using club soda or mineral water instead of lemon lime soda, add a little simple syrup or honey to taste.
- Blueberry Juice - Add a splash of blueberry juice for even more berry flavor and color.
- Ginger Beer - Swap the soda for ginger beer for a stronger, slightly spicy flavor. It will still be a mocktail as long as you use nonalcoholic ginger beer.

Equipment
To make this berry mocktail, you'll want to have a fine mesh strainer, a spoon to stir, and your favorite drinking glass.
Storage
I don't recommend making the finished mocktail and storing it for later. It's meant to be made fresh and enjoyed right away. The soda will lose its fizz as it sits, and the ice will eventually water down the drink.
You can make the blueberry puree ahead of time and keep it covered in the refrigerator. Then it only takes a minute or two to put the drink together when you're ready for it.

Common Questions
I recommend it. The ice cubes make the drink cold really quickly and that is what makes it so light and refreshing. If you want to wait and add the ice cubes right before serving, that will help to not water it down.
You can. This drink recipe is really versatile, so you can use fresh or frozen. I like to use fresh blueberries during the summer months when they're at their peak freshness.
100%, yes. Just add the ingredients and then double them to make even more. I do this all the time because it's such a great party drink that is kid and adult friendly.
There are so many fun garnish options for this drink. You can add some fresh mint for a mint flavor. You can also add some sugar on the rim of the glass so that when people take a sip, they get an extra pop of sweetness. If you want to add some lime juice to the edge, you can do that as well.
You bet! There is no alcohol involved at all in making this drink, so it should be fine for them to drink.
Yes, have fun with it. I think that using strawberries or raspberries would be a great option, too. As long as you strain out any seeds and stems, you should be able to use any type of fresh or frozen berry that you want. You can even double up the type of berries that you use to make a fun new flavor.
